    Our Story

    Where Words Find Their Home

Parchment was born out of a simple frustration. The publishing process, for all its beauty, can be needlessly opaque and discouraging — particularly for writers who have something genuine to say but no roadmap for how to say it to the world.

We started with a belief that this could be done differently. That a publishing house could be a genuine partner to its authors, transparent and invested, present at every stage of the journey from manuscript to reader.

We also knew that to earn the trust of emerging voices, we first needed to earn credibility. So we began by working with some of India's most respected literary figures, and built the foundation that Parchment now stands on.

We are a small but serious publishing house. India-rooted, genre-agnostic, and uncompromising about one thing: the work has to have soul.

"Every book is a conversation waiting to happen."

    — The Parchment Team
